Music Video- Task 4

Artist: Bruno Mars

Song: When I Was Your Man

The music video was directed by Cameron Duddy and Bruno Mars himself, and was released February 5. Mars plays a lonely balladeer who sits in front of a piano donning a pair of sunglasses with a half-full glass of whiskey. The video is based on 70s vibe and retro effect. The set and idea of the video is similar to one used for " Love in the key of C" a 1997 Belinda Carlisle minor hit.

Genre/ Style:
Soul and pop

Length and Pace:
Keeping in mind of the genre, this is a slow paced song with a length of three minutes and thirty-three seconds.

Meaning: In this song, Bruno Mars is conveying the message about how he lost a girl due to things he regrets he should've done e.g in this song he writes "I hope he buys you flowers/ Do all the things i should've done, when i was your man".

Narrative:
The song does tell a story. This song is showing the audience what Bruno Mars went through at some point in his life. It's a song explaining why he lost her and what he should've done to keep her.

Carling Script 2

Sunday, 3 November 2013

Treatment and Script #2: PlayStation 4

Radio Advert:

Product: PlayStation 4

Script 1: I am the PlayStation and i will conquer the world
...Of gaming of course
No one can stand up to me
Even the New Xbox one can
might as well call it the Xbox "None"

As far as my last clone-the PlayStation 3
I am far more superior

Script 2:

The purpose for which i was born is
Was to destroy any console that is created.
I come from the planet Game Galactica.
I have landed on Earth. I am far superior than any other machine in this universe.
I AM THE PLAYSTATION 4.

Client and Placement: For my PlayStation advert Length:
For my radio station i have chosen Smooth Radio. I've chosen to make my advert 60 seconds. I have chosen to make my advert 60 seconds is because, this is enough time to make an advert that conveys your message more clearly than a 30 second advert that leaves doubts and questions. I will include specific details to help persuade. Specifics are always more believable than generalities.

Style:
My radio advert will be more on the informal side rather than being formal and informative throughout. As it is targeted at a younger age, it would be better i make the advert informal.

Brief Description:
The concept of my advert is the PlayStation itself stating why it is better than the Xbox One and any other console.

USP (Unique Selling-point) :
I will use the difference between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 as my USP, explaining what changes and upgrades it has. PlayStation 4 has better processing power than the PS3, better graphics also.

Production Method:
I will use the voice recorder to produce my advert, and use the Mac Computers to do the editing. I will be the one who is doing the voice over because i know how i want the advert to sound.

Target Audience: My target audience is people who love games consoles, especially those who have been a fan and love the PlayStation consoles. I'm mostly targeting males of the age 15 and over. This is because males like these sort of things more than women and the reason why i chose this age range is because of the age restriction on most of the games.

Resources Required:

Equipment: Voice Recorder, Mac Computer and editing software

Production Time (recording and editing): The planning, script, recording and editing will

Style of Music bed: I will use up beat action type music, for example 'Fight As One' by Bad City. This music is for action type stuff. whether it be in a fighting game or in a movie.

Treatment and Script #1: Carling Beer

Radio Advert: Carling

Product: Carling Beer

Client and Placement:
My advert will be played between 12:00 in the afternoon and 19:00 in the evening. My advert does not promote late night drinking, as many accidents happen when people get drunk. My radio advert will be played on the Smooth Radio station.

Script:
For my script I've chosen to make it into like a a little poem about the goodness of Carling:

(Music Plays)

MVO:
"It's sneaky little tiny thing that comes without no call
the moment you think you have conquered it
is when you have lost it all.

MVO:
Wherever you are going
or wherever you may be
don't think that it won't find you
or that you'll ever be set free"

Slogan/Tag Line:
'Carling, It'll make you agree'

Length/Timing:
The length for my Carling radio advert is 60 seconds. I chose this specific time as I wanted my ad to be brief, simple but effective. Long adverts tend to bore the audience.

Radio Station:
I've chosen to use Smooth Radio as the station which will play out my advert. The radio station I have chosen is Smooth radio. the reason being that smooth radio reaches 3,153,000 (6%) adult listeners each week. This would help my radio advert to reach a lot of people.

Brief Description:
I've chosen to do a Carling advert, reason being that there are many alcohol lovers out there and i want my advert to appeal to those who do not drink the Carling Brand, and to those who do.

Production Method:
I will be making my radio advert using the college's facilities for example the radio studio, the Mac computers

Target Audience:
My target audience is people who love alcohol and those who don't. I've chosen to also target those who do not love alcohol in hoping to persuade them with my advert.

USP (Unique selling point):
The unique selling point of my radio advert will be the goodness of it, and it's addictive qualities.

Resources Required:

Human:
The only person I will require for this radio recording is me.

Equipment:
In order to make my radio advert I will need a voice recorder. After that I will need to use the Mac Computer to edit my recording, and to add the music bed.

Production Time (recording and editing):
The recording will not take more than a few days to complete.

Style of Music bed:
For my music i will use either classical music or have no music bed at all. This is because i want what i'm saying to be the main focus of attention, i want the audience to only focus on what i'm saying.

Budget Information

I will need to consider the budget in terms of the cost for the time slot which i want and paying the Smooth Radio station to advertise my advert. In terms of the cost, getting the equipment and getting the time slot at the studio to record would are the only aspects which are gonna be costly.
